La Dame d'Izieu(2007)

La Dame d'Izieu is a documentary series that follows Sabine Zlatin's fight to preserve the memory of 44 Jewish children arrested and deported from her home in Izieu on April 6, 1944. In 1983, months after Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie's extradition to France, Zlatin returns to the village to commemorate the roundup. She discovers that the Izieu deportation cannot be included in Barbie's trial due to insufficient evidence, leaving her determined to ensure these children are not erased from history. The series chronicles her tireless efforts to document their stories and secure justice, exploring how one woman's dedication becomes a beacon against historical amnesia.
