Shadowplay is a post-war crime drama set in 1946 Berlin. An American military policeman arrives in the devastated German capital to find his missing brother, only to become entangled in a brutal murder investigation. Partnered with an inexperienced German policewoman, he navigates the lawless streets of a fractured city where violence runs rampant and trust is scarce. As they pursue a dangerous killer, the two officers must overcome their differences and the deep mistrust between occupiers and occupied. The series captures the moral ambiguity and chaos of immediate post-war Germany, where former enemies must work together to restore order. Dark, gritty, and compelling, Shadowplay blends personal mystery with the larger tragedy of a nation in ruins.
