Apple in Your Eye(2014)

Apple in Your Eye is a Chinese drama series following Zhou Jiwei, the unwanted third daughter in a family that desperately wanted a son. Neglected by her own parents and given only hand-me-downs, Jiwei finds warmth and belonging with her neighbors, particularly their son Dai Yaoqi. She attaches herself to him as a devoted "sister," determined to earn his affection, but he resists the relationship entirely. As Jiwei grows closer to Yaoqi despite his reluctance, her feelings shift from familial devotion to something deeper and more complicated. The series explores themes of belonging, unrequited emotion, and the blurred lines between familial and romantic love as Jiwei navigates her place in two very different households.
