Fist of Fun(1995)

Fist of Fun is a British sketch comedy series written by and starring Lee and Herring. The show evolved from their radio programme Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World, translating its absurdist humour to television. Each episode strings together unrelated sketches and situations in rapid succession. Starting as a BBC Radio 1 series in 1993, Fist of Fun moved to BBC Two in early 1995, airing Tuesday nights at 9pm. Though it found an audience, the show never became a major ratings hit. A second series followed on Friday nights with decent viewership, but lack of preparation and poor promotion hampered its momentum. The series ended without a third run. Despite its brief run, Fist of Fun became a launchpad for numerous comedians who later achieved prominence, including Kevin Eldon, Peter Baynham, Ronni Ancona, Al Murray, Rebecca Front, Mel Giedroyc, Sue Perkins and Sally Phillips.
