Aafat(2019)

Aafat is an Indian series that follows Ricky Malhotra, a mama's boy searching for his perfect bride, as he encounters five unconventional women who challenge his expectations. Ayesha has never shaved, Anu works at a corporate firm but is bald, Faiza struggles to control her language, Aditi is an MBA graduate who doesn't fit conventional beauty standards, and Titli is a divorced entrepreneur. As Ricky navigates arranged marriage prospects with each woman, the show dismantles social stereotypes and prejudices about what makes an ideal partner. The quirky comedy explores how society's narrow definitions of perfection clash with real, flawed human beings. Ultimately, Aafat asks which woman—if any—will become his perfect bride, while questioning whether perfection itself is worth pursuing.
