Comrade Major

Comrade Major is a Russian drama series following San Sanych Kuleshov, a fifty-year-old FSB major working in the wiretapping department. For decades, he's wielded extraordinary power—accessing smartphones, laptops, and personal data on anyone marked as his "object"—without moral question. Then something shifts. Kuleshov realizes the people he monitors are vulnerable and kind, not threats requiring surveillance. He begins using his technical skills and access to help them in secret, becoming an unlikely vigilante who intervenes in their lives without permission or recognition. The series explores the tension between state machinery and individual conscience, following a man who finally chooses compassion over compliance, operating in the shadows to do good.
