E-Ring(2005)

E-Ring is an American military drama that aired on NBC in 2005. Created by Ken Robinson and David McKenna and executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the series follows Major James Tisnewski, a former Delta Force operator played by Benjamin Bratt, and Colonel Eli McNulty, portrayed by Dennis Hopper, as they work in the Pentagon's E-Ring—the outermost of five concentric rings where the most critical decisions are made. Their division plans and coordinates covert US special operations around the globe, navigating the complex approval process required before any military action can proceed. The show explores the high-stakes world of military strategy and intelligence, where operations must be legally vetted and authorized by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Despite strong supporting cast and production pedigree, E-Ring struggled against competing network hits and was canceled after a single season.
