Iljimae(2008)

Peasant by day, Hero by night, Iljimae.

Iljimae is a Korean historical drama set during the Joseon Dynasty. By day, Ryung is a lowly gangster working the marketplace; by night, he becomes Iljimae, a masked robber who steals from corrupt officials and distributes the spoils to the poor. He leaves a wooden plum branch at each crime scene as his signature. Bong Soon, a skilled martial artist and con artist, loves Ryung devotedly and supports his double life. When Ryung encounters Eun Chae, a compassionate government official's daughter, a tender romance blooms between them. Their connection, however, draws unwanted attention from an Imperial Guard who harbors his own feelings for her, threatening to expose Iljimae's identity and destroy everything he's built.
