Ironside is a crime drama series following Robert T. Ironside, a former Chief of Detectives who becomes a police consultant after an assassin's bullet leaves him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Unable to return to active duty, Ironside applies his sharp investigative mind to solving complex cases alongside Detective Sergeant Ed Brown and policewoman Eve Whitfield. The team is rounded out by Mark Sanger, an ex-con hired as Ironside's home help who proves himself invaluable in the field. As the series evolves, Officer Whitfield eventually departs, replaced by Officer Fran Belding. Together, they tackle varied and challenging investigations, proving that Ironside's disability is no barrier to his detective work.
