Lotte(2006)

Lotte is a Dutch telenovela that follows Lotte Pronk, a business economics graduate who lands a secretary job at Emoda, a prestigious international fashion company. Initially mocked by colleagues for her appearance, Lotte gradually builds confidence, climbs the corporate ladder, and navigates romantic entanglements while a power struggle unfolds between two rival CEOs. The series balances her personal transformation with the intertwined careers and relationships of her fellow employees. Written by Marciel Witteman and directed by Vincent Schuurman and Manin de Wilt, Lotte adapts the Colombian telenovela Betty La Fea for Dutch audiences. Originally planned for 200 episodes, the series expanded to 235 to properly resolve character arcs, with all principals reuniting in the finale. The show aired weekdays on commercial station Tien.
