The Eight Offensive(1979)

The Eight Offensive is a Yugoslav drama set in the aftermath of World War II. As the government orchestrates a sweeping colonization of Vojvodina's prosperous villages—vacated by German farmers—poor Bosnian peasants are brought in to replace them. The series explores the human cost of this forced resettlement, examining themes of displacement, cultural collision, and state-mandated transformation during a turbulent period of national reconstruction. Adapted from Branko Copic's novel, the story captures the tensions and struggles of ordinary people caught between government ambition and personal survival in postwar Yugoslavia.
