Ordeal By Fire

AgniDivya is a film based on C.T. Khanolkar's novel "Agochar," set in the mysterious Konkan region. The story pivots on a collision between the tyrannical Anandrao Desai and the principled Nandini, whose arrival at his family mansion ignites both desire and conflict. Anandrao, accustomed to absolute control over the women in his household and town, becomes enchanted by Nandini's beauty and brings her into his home as his brother Achyut's wife. Yet Achyut lacks the strength to match his domineering sibling. In Nandini, Anandrao finally encounters someone who will not bend to his will. The film explores themes of morality, family bonds, and destiny as the clash between these two forces threatens to consume everything around them, including the old mansion itself, in a cleansing fire.
