The Strength to Tell(2013)

The Strength to Tell is a documentary film following Jerusalem teenagers in the Martef drama therapy program as they interview survivors of the 1961 Eichmann trial and transform their testimonies into a theatrical production. Initially distant, the at-risk youth and aging witnesses share little common ground and resist connection. Through the interview process, however, an unexpected empathy emerges between generations. The project becomes a bridge between young people grappling with their own struggles and survivors carrying the weight of history. As the teenagers prepare their play, they discover how bearing witness to trauma—and telling those stories—can reshape their own understanding of resilience and responsibility.
