Baztan(2012)

Baztan is a historical drama following a film crew that journeys to Spain's Baztan Valley to document a dark chapter of regional history. The project centers on the agotes, a marginalized community forced into centuries of isolation and discrimination from the seventeenth century onward. As the crew investigates this forgotten story of social persecution, they uncover the harsh realities of how an entire group of people were systematically excluded from mainstream society for generations. The film blends documentary-style storytelling with period narrative, examining how prejudice became embedded in the valley's culture and persisted into modern times. Baztan serves as both a historical record and a meditation on the long shadow of institutional discrimination.
