Mrugaraju(2001)

Mrugaraju is a 2001 Telugu action film directed by Gunasekhar, adapted from the Hollywood thriller The Ghost and the Darkness. Chiranjeevi stars as a man tasked with protecting a railway construction crew in the jungle from a deadly man-eating lion. When the project's chief engineer falls victim to the beast, engineer Aishwarya (Simran) takes charge of completing the bridge despite the mounting terror. As the lion continues its rampage, the crew faces an escalating battle for survival against both the animal and the harsh wilderness. The film blends adventure and suspense with Mani Sharma's score. Mrugaraju was also released in Tamil as Vettaikkaaran and in Hindi as Rakshak, The Protector, reaching audiences across multiple Indian film industries.
