Epiphany(2012)

Epiphany is a period drama set in Meiji Era Japan. When Takagorou vanishes in Yokohama while traveling to Tokyo to join the prestigious Enouza theater troupe, his family faces a crisis. With his audition the next day and no trace of him anywhere, his twin sister Otaka makes a bold decision: she disguises herself as her brother and infiltrates the kabuki company to secure his place. What begins as a desperate gambit to buy time becomes a dangerous masquerade as Otaka navigates the rigid traditions and close quarters of the troupe, risking exposure at every turn. The film explores themes of family loyalty, identity, and the sacrifices made to preserve honor in a transforming Japan.
