Drum of Heaven(2005)

Drum of Heaven is a period drama set in Heian era Japan. A nobleman discovers an abandoned infant and raises him as his son, naming him Nijihito after a rainbow witnessed at the moment of discovery. The boy's only link to his past is a peculiar drum left alongside him. Nijihito becomes a prodigy drummer, surpassing his childhood friend Tatsuru in skill and renown. As Nijihito matures, his affections turn toward a mysterious woman he encounters playing the flute one evening, leaving his devoted companion Ibuki nursing an unrequited love. The drum itself remains an enigma—a silent keeper of secrets about Nijihito's true origins and destiny.
