Land of Scarecrows(2009)

Land of Scarecrows is a visual poem that weaves together the lives of three outsiders: Jiyoung Jang, a 40-year-old trans artist; Loi Tan, an adopted Filipino boy; and Rain, a young woman chasing a Korean dream. When their paths unexpectedly intersect, the film explores how each character absorbs psychological strain from their surroundings while inadvertently polluting their own environments. Through their interconnected stories, the film examines the quiet ironies of modern existence—how displacement, identity, and belonging shape those caught between worlds. Tender and meditative, Land of Scarecrows captures the emotional weight of migration and the invisible damage we carry and inflict.
