Day of the Wacko(2002)

Day of the Wacko is a Polish drama following Adam Miauczynski, a 49-year-old high school teacher consumed by self-loathing and contempt for those around him. Each day is torture—he recites poetry to indifferent students, then returns home to rage at his neighbours and himself. Romance haunts his fantasies, but he lacks the courage to pursue it. His aggression flares in mundane interactions; even five more minutes of existence feels unbearable. Director Marek Koterski returns to his recurring character to sketch a portrait of modern alienation, capturing the quiet desperation of a man at war with himself and the world. The film is a bleak, unflinching study of isolation and self-sabotage.
