Asakusa Daydreams is a Japanese drama following Honoka on May 5th, 2010—the anniversary of her mother Yoko's death at age 24. Now approaching that same age, Honoka grapples with the fear of mortality and harbors deep resentment toward her father Kotaro, who abandoned the family during her mother's final days and didn't attend the funeral. As Honoka confronts her birthday and the weight of old grief, buried secrets begin to surface. The film explores how love and forgiveness can emerge from years of pain, revealing unexpected truths that reshape her understanding of family and loss.
