Sh'Chur(1994)
Sh'Chur is an Israeli drama about a Jewish Moroccan immigrant family fractured by generational conflict. Cheli, a successful but emotionally fragile talk show host, returns to Israel for her father's funeral alongside her mentally ill sister Pnina and her estranged adopted daughter. The journey becomes a descent into their shared trauma. Through flashbacks, the film reveals how Cheli spent her youth desperate to escape her family's Moroccan roots and assimilate into Israeli society, ashamed of her struggling parents and cruel to her troubled sister. Her father's rigid religiosity and her mother's psychological manipulation left deep scars. As the three women travel together, long-buried resentments surface, forcing them to confront the painful legacy that has defined their lives and relationships.
