Without Conscience(2004)

Without Conscience is an Italian drama following Mauro, a reclusive middle-aged male nurse who risks everything to keep his hospital job. He agrees to escort Eddi, a ten-year-old undocumented immigrant, across to Switzerland to meet his adoptive parents. Joining them is Rollo, a taciturn small-time mobster with his own agenda. What begins as a simple border crossing spirals into chaos when the trio encounters car breakdowns, a Bulgarian sex worker, and her dangerous handlers. The film explores themes of desperation, moral compromise, and unlikely bonds forged under pressure. Mauro's quiet life unravels as he becomes entangled in circumstances far beyond his control, forcing him to confront his conscience and the true cost of survival.
