Horizons(1973)

Horizons is an experimental film that structures itself around the cyclical patterns of nature and classical art. Drawing inspiration from Virgil's Georgics and Vivaldi's Four Seasons, director Gottheim divides the work into four movements, each with its own rigorous editing rhythm. The film captures the same pastoral elements—trees, sky, hills, and clotheslines—across shifting light and seasons, allowing the landscape to reveal new dimensions through careful compositional choices. Rather than narrative, Horizons unfolds as a meditation on how time and illumination transform the familiar into something endlessly complex.
