Kommissar Süden und der Luftgitarrist is a German crime film that follows Inspector Süden as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of Edward Loos, a reclusive architect and virtuoso air guitarist who vanishes just before the German qualifying round for the air guitar world championship. When Süden's colleague Martin Heuer, competing in the final, grows concerned about his missing rival, the inspector takes on a case that technically isn't even a missing persons report. As Süden's team searches for the vanished musician, they're simultaneously drawn into another bizarre investigation: a man claims to have spotted his wife, who died in the 2004 tsunami, riding the Munich subway.
