Mulheres no Poder(2016)

Mulheres no Poder is a Brazilian political thriller about corruption and ambition in high places. Corrupt senator Maria Pilar spots a chance to manipulate the bidding process for a major government project. She reaches out to Minister Ivone Feitosa, who directs her to the ministry's executive secretary, Madalena, to orchestrate a frame-up. But Madalena has her own agenda. What begins as a scheme to rig the system spirals into a dangerous power struggle between two women willing to do whatever it takes to advance themselves. The film explores how ruthlessness and self-interest collide when neither player is willing to be anyone's pawn.
