Beat Down(2012)

Beat Down is an irreverent comedy about wrestling, family and chasing dreams despite the cost. Eighteen-year-old Fran Whiteway is determined to become a professional wrestler, but her single father Whitey—a former pro known as White Lightning—forbids it, haunted by his own failed ambitions in the ring. When Whitey's old rival Dark Thunder rolls into town, Fran seizes the chance to run away and join his wrestling tour. As Whitey desperately tries to bring his daughter home, Fran discovers what it truly takes to survive in professional wrestling and in life. The film balances humor with heart, exploring the tension between parental protection and a young person's right to forge her own path, no matter how bruising the journey becomes.
