Leone nel basilico is an Italian drama about Maria Celeste, a solitary widow living in a retirement home who spends her Sundays alone on a park bench, lying to others about visiting her son. One afternoon, a young girl places a ten-month-old baby in Maria's arms and disappears. When the girl returns, they begin to form a connection, but tragedy strikes when she's hit by a tram and killed while crossing the street.
