Life on Earth is a meditative documentary that follows Drahmane as he returns to his father's village in Sokolo, Mali, just before the year 2000. Cycling through town, he observes the rhythms of daily life—work, prayer, conversation—and contemplates what the new millennium means in a place where time moves differently. Director Abderrahmane Sissako captures the quiet dignity of a community where the ordinary feels universal. The film's unhurried pace and attentive eye reveal how a small Malian village becomes a mirror for reflection on existence itself. Sissako's debut earned recognition at major festivals including Fribourg, Ouagadougou, and San Francisco.
