The Last Great Wilderness(2002)

The Last Great Wilderness is a dark comedy about a man nursing a vengeful plan. Charlie's wife has left him for a pop star, and he's determined to burn down the star's Scottish mansion on the Isle of Skye. Along the way, he picks up Vincente, a Spanish drifter, and the two run out of gas in a remote stretch of countryside. Stranded, they stumble upon an isolated house inhabited by an eccentric, suspicious group that may or may not be a cult. What begins as a pit stop becomes an increasingly strange and unsettling stay as Charlie and Vincente find themselves trapped in the group's peculiar world. The film balances dark humour with genuine unease as the two outsiders navigate their bizarre hosts and their own fractured motivations.
