Who Is Vermin Supreme? An Outsider Odyssey is a documentary following the absurdist 2012 presidential campaign of performance artist and political provocateur Vermin Supreme. Running on a platform of free ponies for every American, federally funded time travel research, and zombie preparedness, Supreme travels from the Rainbow Gathering in Cherokee National Forest through the Democratic and Republican National Conventions to Occupy Wall Street protests and Washington, DC itself. The film captures the surreal collision between Supreme's anarchic humor and America's political establishment, moving between moments of genuine levity—songs for police officers, pranks targeting anti-abortion activists—and darker scenes of riot police confrontation. What emerges is an unconventional portrait of American democracy, protest culture, and the boundaries between serious political discourse and performance art.
