Drinking Crude(1997)

Drinking Crude follows an 18-year-old Irish school dropout who escapes his small Kerry hometown for London, where he lands work at an oil refinery. There he bonds with a rough Scottish coworker and begins reconsidering his abandoned education. When the refinery sends both men back to Kerry for a job, old tensions resurface and complicate their unlikely friendship. The film explores the clash between ambition and circumstance, tracing how two men from different worlds navigate class, opportunity, and the pull of home.
