The Coach(2009)

The Coach follows Niels, a 14-year-old handball obsessive whose natural talent as a goalkeeper catches the attention of his coach. When the coach invites the team to celebrate before the Danish championship qualifiers, he offers Niels and his girlfriend Pernille use of his bedroom. Niels falls asleep, and what unfolds becomes a turning point that fractures his world. Suddenly caught between competing pressures—both in the goal and in his personal life—Niels must navigate the fallout of that night. The film captures the vulnerability of adolescence, where a single moment can upend everything a young athlete has worked toward, blending the intensity of competitive sport with the complicated terrain of growing up.
