Straight Outta Oakland follows four childhood friends who have remained in their neighborhood as adults, even as the community around them has deteriorated. What once was home has become a struggle for survival. Each man carries his own plan to escape the hood, but the weight of their circumstances tests their resolve and their bonds. The film explores how poverty, ambition, and loyalty collide when leaving proves harder than imagined. As they navigate daily life in a place that no longer feels like it belongs to them, the men must decide whether freedom means running away or finding it where they are.
