Geochang Massacre - Bloody Winter is a documentary drama following Dong-seok Cha, a producer whose film about the 1951 Geochang massacre fails to secure broadcast. Desperate to salvage the project, Cha encounters Ji-yoon and her grandfather Lee, a soldier present during the massacre who has since lost his memory to illness. Lee carries a photograph of a girl he's searched for his entire life, and the three travel to Geochang to find her. Cha sees an opportunity to revitalize his documentary by filming their personal quest. As they uncover the past, the film becomes less about historical record and more about one man's fragmented memories and the search for redemption amid tragedy. The story interweaves personal loss with collective trauma, exploring how individual stories can illuminate forgotten atrocities.
