Curse of the Deserted is a supernatural horror film that follows writer Guo, who penned a book about a village curse dating back 500 years to the Ming Dynasty. When a man mysteriously returned to life, terrified villagers burned him and his mansion. His widow Yanzi threw herself into the flames, and since then, the village has been plagued by mysterious deaths. Legend claims only couples with true love can survive there; the unfaithful are doomed. Though the world dismissed Guo's book as fiction, he and his ex-girlfriend Zhi know the curse is real—they've lived through its horror. When four college students venture to explore the village, they discover an ancient well in Yanzi's mansion and inadvertently unleash the curse anew. Their exploration becomes a fight for survival as the supernatural forces awaken.
