The Old House(2010)

The Old House is a Cuban drama adapted from Abelardo Estorino's classic stage work. Esteban returns to his childhood home after fourteen years abroad, summoned by his father's terminal illness. Inside the old house, time has barely moved. He confronts a tangle of family secrets, lingering resentments, and misunderstandings that have calcified over the decades. As Esteban navigates the frozen dynamics of his past, intolerance and unspoken grievances threaten to keep him trapped in a place where nothing has truly changed. The film explores how absence can preserve pain as much as memory, and whether homecoming offers redemption or merely reopens old wounds.
