Songbird follows Joanne, the washed-up lead singer of 1990s Britpop band the Filthy Dukes, who accidentally enrolls in university after a boozy night with her friend Sara. Determined to prove she's still got it, Joanne throws herself into student life as a party animal, only to discover that today's undergraduates have moved on from rock 'n' roll. As she navigates this strange new world, Joanne finds unexpected opportunities for reinvention and romance. The film balances comedy with genuine heart, exploring what happens when a former rock star confronts her fading fame and discovers there's more to life than her glory days. It's a charming story about second chances and finding yourself when you thought your best years were behind you.
