Beit el nattash(1952)

Beit el nattash is an Iraqi drama centered on Master Ghandour's scheme to manipulate an Iraqi woman through a forged contract. When he proposes marriage as a solution, she refuses unless her daughter Malbasa marries first. Ghandour arranges for his son Mahboob to be Malbasa's groom, but the plan unravels when she falls in love with her cousin Sugar, a pulp merchant. The film explores themes of family honor, deception, and romantic desire as competing interests clash within a traditional household. Caught between duty and passion, Malbasa must navigate her father's ambitions and her own heart's desires.
