The Proud(1962)

The Proud is a Greek historical drama set in the turbulent years following the 1821 revolution. Liakos Bournovas seeks to marry Fotini, sister of the powerful Panagiotis Notaras, while Notaras pursues Liakos' own sister. When a bandit captures Fotini, Liakos rescues her but refuses Notaras' reward, an act of pride that ignites a bitter feud.
