Pixelia is an Indian film about Kumar, a thirty-something who quits his corporate job in Kochi to pursue graphic novels and drive for Uber. When transgender woman Mandakini enters his cab one day, their chance encounter becomes a turning point. Over hours of conversation, they share intimate stories—Mandakini's past and dream of adoption, Kumar's graphic novel in progress. A genuine connection forms, and Kumar begins confronting his own queer identity as their relationship deepens. Their bond faces real obstacles when they consider adopting a child together, a path complicated by India's legal and social barriers for queer parents. Blending documentary realism with magical imagery, Pixelia explores how fragmentation and disconnection shape modern lives, finding meaning in unexpected human connection.
