Guttman X 5(2015)

Guttman X 5 is a five-part film project honoring Israeli director Amos Guttman, a Transylvanian-born pioneer of gay cinema who died of AIDS in 1993. Connected by animated sequences, the shorts blend multiple styles and genres, each helmed by a different filmmaker. The collection explores Guttman's legacy and impact on Israeli film through varied creative lenses. The final episode becomes deeply personal, featuring Kati Guttman reflecting on her son's death two decades earlier and publicly recounting her own survival of Nazi concentration camps for the first time. Produced by the Tel Aviv Film Festival, Guttman X 5 weaves together artistic tribute and intimate family history, creating a multifaceted portrait of a transformative cultural figure and the generational trauma that shaped him.
