Abraço is a documentary following the 2008 teacher uprising in Sergipe, Brazil. When the state government threatens to strip away hard-won labor rights, 30,000 educators abandon their classrooms for a month-long battle in the capital, Aracaju. The fight hinges on convincing the Court to preserve the teaching profession itself, with trials postponed twice as the struggle intensifies. At the heart of this political clash is Professor Ana Rosa, who juggles motherhood, marriage, and union leadership while fighting for her profession. Her husband's dismissal and her mother-in-law's traditional views compound the pressure, forcing her to navigate not just institutional resistance but domestic incomprehension. The film captures how personal and political struggles collide when women lead from the front.
