Shin Dousei Jidai: Hawaiian Breeze(1992)

Hawaiian Breeze is a romantic drama about Peter Honda, an illustrator, and Eri Todani, a planner, who have lived together for two years after meeting in Hawaii. On the surface they seem content, but a fundamental divide threatens their relationship: Peter wants marriage and children, while Eri rejects both. As their happiness fades, Eri leaves to reconsider their future. When Peter's editor Reiko—who harbors feelings for him—uncovers the true source of Eri's resistance, Peter faces an impossible choice. He must decide whether to pursue his dream of fatherhood without her, or abandon that dream to stay with the woman he loves. The film explores the painful reality that some relationships cannot survive incompatible life goals.
