Grotto of the Gorgons is an experimental electronic variety show that blends poetry, theatrical performance, dance, and music into a deliberately fragmented narrative. The film explores themes of literary innocence while serving as a tribute to Rondo Hatton, the character actor who became a horror film fixture in 1940s B-movies. Created as a collaborative project with students at the San Francisco Art Institute, the work embraces staged incompetence and dense layering as deliberate artistic choices. The result is an avant-garde piece that resists conventional storytelling, instead offering viewers a kaleidoscopic experience that prioritizes artistic experimentation and cultural memory over narrative clarity.
