Handwashing Lady is a Korean comedy about Chan-sung, an unemployed man who falls for Haru, a mysterious woman in his neighborhood. When she finally opens up to him, Chan-sung moves in and they settle into domestic bliss—until Haru's behavior shifts dramatically. What began as tenderness curdles into obsession. As Chan-sung finds himself drawn to Min-ji, his friend's roommate, Haru's jealousy spirals into chaos. The film explores how quickly intimacy can transform into something darker, blending romance with dark humor as a relationship implodes over the course of a single month. What started as a fairy tale becomes a cautionary tale about desire, dependency, and the masks we wear.
