Dementia of the Putrefact(2002)

Dementia of the Putrefact is a short film inspired by the experimental dramas of George Kuchar. Director Petter Baiestorf made this homemade production with friends as a creative exercise, starring Elio Copini, Everson Schütz, and Coffin Souza. Despite its DIY aesthetic and playful spirit, the film offers a sharp critique of organized religion and religious fanaticism. Baiestorf uses the film's deliberately crude style to satirize zealotry and dogmatic belief, channeling the provocative energy of his influences into a darkly comic meditation on faith and devotion. The result is an unconventional work that balances irreverent humor with pointed social commentary.
