The Lucky Transfer(1915)

The Lucky Transfer is a silent short film following Jim Dodson, a poor workman who relies on begging streetcar transfers to ride home from his job each night. When two crooks named Ford and Ransom rob a local store, they steal stamped envelopes bearing the firm's name and address. This seemingly minor theft sets off a chain of events that entangles Dodson in their criminal scheme. As circumstances spiral beyond his control, the workman must navigate a web of mistaken identity and suspicion to clear his name and reclaim his ordinary life. The film captures the precarious existence of working-class life in the early twentieth century, where a single stroke of bad luck can upend everything.
