Birdland(2020)

Birdland follows Joy and her daughter Skye, who live in a trailer on the outskirts of town. Joy's permissive parenting philosophy faces a breaking point when Skye begins imitating her mother's behavior to dangerous extremes. What starts as innocent mimicry spirals into a test of their relationship and Joy's ability to set boundaries. The film explores the tension between wanting to be a friend to your child and the responsibility of being a parent, as Joy must confront the consequences of her liberal approach to raising Skye. Their bond becomes strained as the line between freedom and recklessness blurs, forcing both mother and daughter to reckon with what it truly means to care for each other.
