Cake au sirop de cordom is a three-minute French short film that reimagines culinary magic as romantic seduction. Drawing inspiration from the fairy tale Peau d'Âne, director Rémi Lange presents Madame Peau de Zob, an unconventional character who shares her recipe for a love potion cake with 1930s-style wit and banter. Rather than hiding a ring in the dough, this version calls for a natural ingredient freely offered by friends. Lange continues his playful exploration of culinary art following earlier shorts Omelette and Les Yeux Brouillés. Originally commissioned for Canal +'s 2005 Gay Night, the film proved a standout at the 11th Paris Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, blending absurdist humor with surreal charm.
