Drawing from David Foster Wallace's celebrated commencement address, the film challenges viewers to consider whether they default to self-centered thinking when facing minor inconveniences, or whether they can step outside that perspective to recognize that others may be battling far greater hardships. Wallace's meditation on empathy and consciousness explores the choice between remaining trapped in our own experience and actively choosing awareness of the wider human condition. The film asks a deceptively simple question: what does it mean to truly see the people around us?
